Relay for Life 2010 Carbondale

On Saturday, we joined other supporters for Relay for Life in Carbondale. While the weather forced the event indoors, it was still an awesome opportunity to come together as a community to raise money for Cancer research. The credit union team raised over $3,000 and fundraising is still ongoing. Our hope is to top last year’s donation of $4,000.

From Kiss the Pig, to being the Credit Union Night Sponsor, our employees contributed lots of  hours raising money.

If you’d like to make a donation to Relay for Life, you can drop it off at any branch location.

Today our Relay for Life team raised $638.43 with our kiss the pig fundraiser. Whichever senior manager had the most money in their jar had to kiss a pig. Our Vice President of Operation, Kim Babington won with $374.63.

While the event was fun and the weather was great to grill hot dogs for our members, we’re reminded of the ongoing fight to cure cancer. We’re honored to play a part in that goal and will continue to raise funds at the local level for the American Cancer Society. Afterall, credit unions are all about people helping people.

On Wednesday, April 21 at 5:45 p.m., we’ll open our doors to Relay for Life teams participating in the Jackson County event to turn in their money they have collected so far. And on Saturday, April 24, our Relay team will be walking the track of Carbondale IMG_0788Community High School with other members participating in Relay for Life. We hope to see you there.

‘Kiss the Pig’ Relay for Life Fundraiser on Friday

Join credit union staff on Friday for a Relay for Life fundraiser that will leave one member of the credit union’s senior management team kissing a pig. The manager with the most money in their donation jar will kiss a pig around 1:30 on Friday.  All proceeds will be added to the credit union’s Relay for Life team.

Hot dogs, chips, baked beans and a drink will be available for a small donation on Friday from 11 to 1 at the credit union’s Giant City Road location.
